New 200-hryvnia banknotes put into circulation on Feb 25 (Photo)

The new banknotes have almost the same design as the 2007 banknote.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on February 25 put into circulation the 200-hryvnia banknotes designed in 2019.

The design of the new banknotes has not changed much and is almost identical to that of 200-hryvnia banknotes issued in 2007, according to the regulator's website.

In particular, the portrait of Lesya Ukrainka, one of Ukraine's most prominent poets and writers, is depicted on the front side of the note, while the other one features Lutsk Castle's Entrance Tower. The dimensions of the new banknote are 75 mm by 148 mm.

UNIAN memo. Currently in circulation are banknotes of the following denominations: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1,000 hryvnias, as well as coins in denominations of 10, 25, 50 kopiykas, as well as newly introduced 1-, 2-, and 5-hryvnia coins.
