Ukraine becomes world's top sunflower oil exporter

The Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association (UCAB) says Ukraine in 2019 boosted sunflower oil exports by 4% to US$4.3 billion, while those of sunflower meal – by 11% to US$975 million, having become the world's top exporter of this produce.

Moreover, Ukraine entered the world's top five largest exporters of rapeseed, having increased shipments by 27%, to US$1.3 billion, those of maize by 49% to US$5.2 billion, barley by 4% to US$710 million, and wheat by 22% to $ 3.7 billion, the UCAB's press service said on February 25.

In addition, Ukraine over the period under review ranked fourth among global exporters of rye, although reducing rye shipments by 75% to US$3.9 million. The country's soybean exports shrank by 16% to UAH 1.2 billion (US$48.9 million), hence Ukraine slid to sixth place in the ranking of the world's soybean exporters.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in 2019 updated its historical record of agri-exports, having supplied to foreign markets agricultural products worth US$22.4 billion, which was almost 20% up from 2018.
