As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 25, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a decree on key technical and economic parameters of the adjusted reconstruction project of the Bortnychi aeration station. The adoption of parameters was one of the main conditions of the government of Japan for provision of the loan for the project within the framework of "Official development assistance" program under special terms for economic partnership. The funds of 108 billion yen were to be provided for 40 years at 0.1% per annum, with a grace period of 10 years.

The plant treats all residential wastewater, as well as industrial wastewater. The aeration station is a complex of engineering structures, equipment and communications, designed for the complete biological wastewater treatment. The design capacity of the station is 1.8 million cubic meters per day (design capacity of each of the three units is 600 thousand. cu. m per day). Currently the plant treats from 700,000 up to one million cubic meters of wastewater per day.
