Average wage in Ukraine grows to almost US$437 in Jan y-o-y

The average nominal wage of a full-time employee grew by 12.5% in Ukraine in January 2020 against December 2019, while rising by 16.3% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 10,727, or US$437.

Real wages in Ukraine in January 2020 increased by 12.7% from December 2019, whereas they also rose by 12.5% y-o-y, the State Statistics Service reported.

The average nominal rate of a full-time employee in Ukraine in January 2020 was 2.3 times up from the minimum wage set at UAH 4,723 (US$192).

The average pay in the city of Kyiv in January 2020 was UAH 15,787 (US$643), the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the minimum wage in Ukraine from January 1, 2020, increased by UAH 550 (US$22.39), to UAH 4,723 (US$192) per month, or UAH 28.31 (US$1.15) per hour.

According to the 2020 national budget, the minimum monthly subsistence wage will be UAH 2,027 (US$82.53) per capita from January 1; UAH 2,118 (US$86.24) from July 1; and UAH 2,189 (US$89.13) from December 1.
