NBU lets official hryvnia weaken to UAH 24.59 to U.S. dollar on March 2

The official forex rate against the euro for Monday is fixed at UAH 26.98 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on February 28 set the official forex rate for Monday, March 2, at UAH 24.59 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency weaken by three kopiykas.

The hryvnia became weaker after it had gained nine kopiykas in value against U.S. dollar on Friday, February 28, according to the NBU website.

The official forex rate against the euro for Monday is fixed at UAH 26.98 per euro – the hryvnia lost five kopiykas in value since Friday.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian hryvnia in January 2020 weakened by 5.7% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 25.03 per U.S. dollar and by 4.7% against the euro, to UAH 27.66 per euro.

In 2019, Ukraine's national currency strengthened by 14.5% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 23.69 and by 16.7% against the euro, to UAH 26.42.

The hryvnia's historical low against the U.S. dollar was registered at UAH 30.01 in February 2015.
