Jaresko: Fall in Ukrainian economy projected at 9% at year-end

The fall of Ukrainian economy in 2015 will likely coincide with the projections of international financial institutions, but in 2016 it is expected to resume growth, Ukrainian Minister of Finance Natalia Jaresko said during the Ukrainian-Swedish business forum in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"It is very difficult to make a forecast. But we are given forecasts, from the EBRD, the World Bank, in particular, a forecast of a 9% [fall of the economy]. Some even project 9.5%,” Jaresko said.

“But what is important is that we still expect growth in 2016."

However, the finance minister stressed that the key to growth would be the reform of the government and the implementation of the program of work of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the president's strategy for sustainable development, Ukraine - 2020.
