Ukraine offering "golden visas" to investors injecting at least US$100,000 in country's economy

Ukrainian parliamentarian Oleksiy Honcharenko says the Cabinet of Ministers has granted the right to the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture to submit proposals to the State Migration Service regarding the setting of an immigration quota for highly qualified specialists in shortage professions and foreign investors who have injected in Ukraine's economy US$100,000, and more.

"Proposals to the State Migration Service as for the establishment of an immigration quota for the next calendar year have been made by [...] the Economy Ministry over individuals who have invested in the Ukrainian economy at least US$100,000, as well as highly qualified specialists and employees, who are in urgent need for Ukraine's economy," he said on March 3, having posted the Cabinet's resolution on his Telegram channel following a government meeting.

According to the document, the Cabinet made changes to the procedure for the formation of an immigration quota.

Thus, the Economy Ministry is now entitled to request Ukrainian citizenship for foreigners who invested in the country's economy over US$100,000.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers set the task to ensure a 40% growth in gross domestic product (GDP) within five years. Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk says this requires attracting US$50 billion in foreign investment.
