Analyst with the Alpari investment company, Maksym Parkhomenko, warns that the hryvnia, Ukraine's national currency, may considerably weaken against the U.S. dollar by this weekend.

The expert says that, if panic worsens on the market, Ukrainians will be buying a dollar at UAH 26, RBC Ukraine news outlet reported March 10.

At the same time, Parkhomenko emphasized that the hryvnia should not tumble to UAH 30 per dollar, as the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) will be reducing volatility of the exchange rate.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the NBU on March 10 weakened the official hryvnia to UAH 24.92 to U.S. dollar, while euro – to UAH 28.23.
