Vitaliy Shubin appointed Acting Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection

Prior to this, he held the post of first deputy minister.

The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Vitaliy Shubin, First Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection, as acting head of the ministry, its press service reports.

In 2004-2011, Shubin worked at the state-owned Energorynok (legal adviser of the claims department, and then head of the legal office with the legal support department).

From 2011 to 2014, he worked in various positions at DTEK energy holding.

From 2014 to 2016, Shubin headed the Department of Law and was Deputy Director for Regulatory Activities and Development of Energy Projects at a privately owned company "Energy Resources of Ukraine" (ERU).

In 2017-2018, he headed the Artsyz wind power station, and also the Izmail, Kiliya and Suvorov wind power stations in Odesa region.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 4, the Verkhovna Rada approved the resignation of Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and dismissed his government. On the same day, Parliament appointed Denys Shmyhal as new head of the Cabinet and approved the new composition of his government.

The newly-appointed PM announced four ministerial vacancies in the new Cabinet, including that for Minister of Energy and the Environmental Protection.
