The Army must be well-armed, the minister says, naming it a priority.
Newly appointed Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran has said Ukraine's Armed Forces need upgrading and transition to modern weapons systems and the latest technology.
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine require upgrading, as well as transition to advanced weapons systems, using the innovative technologies. We also need well-thought-out weapons development program rather than non-systemic procurement to 'patch old holes'," he said at the ceremony of his presentation by the President's Office on March 11.

According to Taran, the Army must be primarily well-armed.
"Unfortunately, this issue currently remains a challenge," he added.
