Ukrainian farmers export over 42 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian agribusinesses exported 42.32 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2019, the start of the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY), to March 12, 2020, which was 8.3 million tonnes up from the relevant period of MY 2018-2019.

In particular, Ukraine exported 16.82 million tonnes of wheat, 4.06 million tonnes of barley, 20.93 million tonnes of maize, and 5,000 tonnes of rye, the Ukrainian Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry's press service said.

Over the period under review, agrarians also shipped 261,600 tonnes of flour from wheat and other types of grain to foreign customers, which was 78,000 tonnes up against the relevant period of MY 2018-2019.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian farmers in 2019 harvested 75 million tonnes of grain, of which 54 million tonnes will be supplied onto foreign markets, according to the ministry.

The 2018 yield was 70.1 million tonnes.

Ukrainian agribusinesses in MY 2018-2019 exported 49.7 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence.
