Ukraine's hryvnia slumps to UAH 25.86 to U.S. dollar on March 13

The official forex rate against the euro for Friday is fixed at UAH 29.05 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on March 12 set the official forex rate for March 13 at UAH 25.86 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency slump by 24 kopiykas.

The Central Bank fixed the following official forex rates of the hryvnia against key foreign currencies for March 13:

US$100 will be traded for UAH 2,585.8 (UAH 2,562.4 as of March 12);

EUR 100 will be traded for UAH 2,905.4 (UAH 2,904.99 as of March 12).

The NBU links the current forex market turmoil in Ukraine with the effect of short-term psychological factors and declares its readiness to maintain the hryvnia stability using international reserves.

The regulator sold US$270 million on the interbank foreign exchange market on Tuesday, March 10, US$350 million on Wednesday, and US$75.9 million on Thursday to stabilize the hryvnia, Ukraine's national currency.
