Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says Ukraine is negotiating with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on support in times of global crisis and hopes for a positive result in the short run.

"We are actively negotiating with regard to assistance from the IMF. This is a separate issue. A meeting with the ambassadors of the Group of Seven [G7] took place yesterday. Every day, we are engaged in talks with the IMF via video conference. We are moving forward in terms of financial support from this international organization," he said at a Cabinet meeting on March 18.
