Defense official suggests amending the 2020 defense budget to ensure uninterrupted food supplies to Ukrainian military servicemen.
First Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Rusnak has said the catering bid winner companies refused to provide relevant services amid the recently imposed restrictive measures to tackle coronavirus spread.
"As a result of the refusal of bidding winners to provide catering services, citing force majeure circumstances related to the introduction of restrictive measures to counter coronavirus, and due to the threat of disruption of uninterrupted food services to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is necessary to extend catering contracts of 2019 until the end of 2020," he said at a government meeting, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

Rusnak suggested amending the 2020 defense budget.
The Defense Ministry will also turn to law enforcement agencies to clarify circumstances of catering firms' refusal to render services.
The government decided to ensure uninterrupted food services to the military.
