Ukrainian banks banned from introducing limits on deposits

If the deposit term expires, it can be extended or the money can be withdrawn.

Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Yakiv Smolii says the regulator has banned banks from introducing any restrictions on deposits that have expired.

"We've barred banks from imposing any restrictions on deposits whose terms have expired. That is, if your deposit has expired, you can do anything with it, that is, extend or withdraw. There are no limitations," he told a briefing on March 20.

According to Smolii, there has been virtually no outflow of deposits in the banking system in recent days.
