Poroshenko’s Roshen Corporation enters Polish market

Confectionery corporation Roshen, owned by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, has announced its entrance into the Polish market and its plans to be one of the top five players in the market in five years, Polish newspaper Puls Biznesu has reported, citing the head of Roshen Europe in Poland Artur Martyniuk.

"Over five years we want to become one of the largest players in the Polish market. We are closely watching here the activities of Wawel, Wedel, Colian and Mieszko," Martyniuk said.

The newspaper also reports that the Roshen has opened an office in Warsaw and built a sales team.

Roshen corporation is one of the largest producers of confectionery products. The business consists of Roshen Ukrainian factories in Kyiv, Vinnytsa, Kremenchug; production sites at the Lipetsk confectionery factory (Russia), the Klaipeda confectionery factory (Lithuania), as well as the Bershadmoloko butter-milk plant, which supplies the corporation’s plants with natural milk.
