Average wage in Ukraine up 15% over past year

The average nominal monthly wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in February 2020 increased by 15% year-on-year, up to UAH 10,847 (US$387.44), the State Statistics Service reports.

Compared with January last year, the average nominal wage in February 2020 increased by 1.1%.

In February 2020, real wages increased by 1.4% compared to the previous month, and also increased by 12.2% against February 2019.

The State Statistics Service notes that the average nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in February this year was 2.3 times higher than the minimum wage, set at UAH 4,723 ($168.70).

The average wage in Kyiv in February 2020 amounted to UAH 16,447 ($587.46).

As UNIAN reported earlier, the minimum wage in Ukraine from January 1, 2020, increased by UAH 550 ($19.65) and amounts to UAH 4,723 per month, or UAH 28.31 ($1.01) per hour.

The 2020 state budget laid down the subsistence minimum at UAH 2,027 ($72.40) from January 1, UAH 2,118 ($75.65) from July 1, and UAH 2,189 ($78.19) from December 1.
