Ukraine's hryvnia strengthens to UAH 27.24 to U.S. dollar on April 7

The official forex rate against the euro for Tuesday is fixed at UAH 29.38 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has set the official forex rate for April 7 at UAH 27.24 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by 14 kopiykas, which has been gaining in value for the third day in a row.

The official forex rate against the euro for Tuesday is fixed at UAH 29.38 per euro – the hryvnia gained 18 kopiykas in value since Monday.

By 16:00 Kyiv time on April 6, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market settled at UAH 27.18/27.21 to the dollar, while those against the euro were at UAH 29.33/29.36.

On Monday morning, the forex rate of the U.S. dollar set by Kyiv's currency exchange booths was UAH 27.60, while that of the euro was UAH 29.90.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank on April 2 conducted the third transaction to exchange cash dollars for cashless ones, transferring US$241.5 million to banks.

The first transaction was US$180 million and the second one amounted to US$130 million.

Since the middle of March, a number of Ukrainian banks have suspended sales of cash currency due to its shortage caused by delivery problems amid limited international flights.
