"Ukrzaliznytsia has an acting head. Unfortunately, he has not justified the trust. So, he will be dismissed soon. This is a matter of several days," he said during an online press conference on April 7.

At the same time, Kryklii noted that the competition to select Ukrzaliznytsia's head would be suspended because not all candidates could be interviewed amid the coronavirus quarantine.

The minister added that a new competition to select the head of the state-run Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) would be announced after the quarantine.

"Now the USPA has an acting head. A competition is under way to select CEO of the USPA. However, I think a new competition will be held after the quarantine is over, as doubts have already arisen for the candidates with regard to their integrity and ties with certain groups," he added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers on February 5 appointed Željko Marček as acting Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrzaliznytsia. In March, he declared a salary of UAH 449,700 (US$16,594) received while working for Ukrzaliznytsia.
