No conditions are being currently observed for restructuring Ukraine's external debt, says Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.

The Cabinet is able to control the level of debt burden, also counting on the support on the part of the IMF and other organizations and international partners, the minister told one of the TV channels, zn.ua reports.

"At present, there are no conditions for restructuring ... The debt burden is absolutely controllable. We perfectly understand what is happening now. We are at the final stage of negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, we expect loan support from the World Bank and the European Commission," said Marchenko.

As reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the International Monetary Fund had not yet responded on the issue of Ukraine’s debt restructuring.

Over the past week, some 16,000 amendments were filed to the draft law on banking regulation before its second reading, setting an absolute record for the Ukrainian legislature. Along with the bill on farmland turnover, adopted by Ukrainian parliament, the draft law on banking regulation is one of the conditions put forward by the IMF to launch a new cooperation program with Ukraine.

The National Bank earlier said that "subject to the conclusion of a program of cooperation with the IMF, Ukraine will not repeat the scenario of 2009, when it was in the lead in terms of plunging GDP."
