Ukraine's Finance Ministry once again cancels weekly gov't bonds auction

The decision was made for the fourth time following similar decisions passed on March 10 and March 31, as well as on April 7.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has once again canceled the weekly domestic government loan bond auction, which was supposed to be held today, April 14.

According to data on the ministry's website, the decision not to bid was made for the fourth time following similar decisions on March 10 and March 31, as well as on April 7.

As before, the ministry canceled the auction following consultations with primary dealers.

Further auctions will be held in accordance with the schedule, taking into account demand and market conditions.

As UNIAN reported earlier, panic on world markets caused by the rapid spread of coronavirus provoked a fall in the currencies of developing countries and stock market quotes.

As a result, non-residents suspended the purchase of debt securities of developing countries, including Ukraine.

Following the results of last week, the volume of non-residents' investments in government bonds of Ukraine decreased to UAH 115 billion (US$4.2 billion), or the level of December last year.
