Renowned global taxi service Uber plans to enter the Ukrainian market and open its regional office in Kyiv.
The information on the vacancy of an Uber representative in Kyiv appeared on the company website and LinkedIn profile, according to Ukrainska Pravda.
The new local manager is expected to monitor the quality of service, represent the company at various events and PR campaigns, deal with potential legal and legislative issues, help expand the business to other cities, and especially, to boost revenue and passenger traffic.
The company has recently launched a service called UberPOP, which allows several passengers ordering the same vehicle that makes the price for the trip even lower.
Uber has become a serious competitor to traditional taxi services around the world, and in some countries it has been officially banned, namely in Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, India, and Germany.
UNIAN reported earlier that the French taxi drivers had staged a one-day strike to protest against Uber.
