The law, signed by the president, was returned back to the parliament on July 7, the report reads.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on April 9, 2015, the Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the Law "On peculiarities of state regulation of business activity related to the sale and exports of timber products" (with respect to the moratorium on exports of unprocessed timber and lumber). The document introduces a 10-year moratorium on exports of such products outside Ukraine’s customs territory.

The representatives of the woodworking industry have repeatedly called for a moratorium on exports of unprocessed timber.

According to the president of the Ukrainian Association of woodworking companies Dmytro Artemchuk, the signing of this law by the president will allow stopping the uncontrolled exports of unprocessed timber from Ukraine and provide work to local woodworking companies, thus increasing budget revenues and creating jobs in the regions.
