Firtash's Gastek builds up its stake in SumyGaz

The largest private owner of a number of Ukrainian regional gas companies – Gastek – has significantly increased its stake in gas distribution company SumyGaz to 46.64% from 25.78%, according to the National Securities and Stock Market Commission's information disclosure system.

Closed joint-stock company Stock Holder's stake is reported to have shrunk from 20.85% to 0%.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in early July 2015, it became known that Gastek had increased its stake in another gas supplier Rivnegaz to 47.75% from 31.67%.

Kyiv-based Gastek is the largest private owner of equity stakes in a number of Ukrainian regional gas supplying enterprises. In particular, Gastek and its affiliated divisions own stakes in Vinnytsiagaz, Volyngaz, Dnipropetrovskgaz, Zhytomyrgaz, Zaporizhgaz, etc.

Gastek is owned by a number of Cypriot companies – Krezer Holdings Limited, Nesiba Ventures Limited, Pasler Enterprises Limited and Porala Ventures Limited, which are affiliated with Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash, according to media reports.

SumyGaz's core business includes the transportation of gas through distribution pipelines and gas sales in Sumy region. NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine owns a 25% stake in SumyGaz.
