Ukrainian government will establish foreign offices of the trade representatives and appoint honorary commercial attaches to promote the country’s economic interests abroad, Ukraine`s Trade Representative Nataliya Mykolska wrote on Facebook.
"With all due respect to our diplomatic corps, trade and economic relations should be developed not by diplomats but by experts on promoting goods and services in foreign markets," according to Mykolska.
"Currently, Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and I are working on implementation of the instructions of the Prime Minister regarding establishment of foreign offices of the trade representatives (as provided by the Resolution approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine),"Mykolska wrote.
In addition, the position of “honorary commercial attaché” is now considered to be introduced for the promotion of Ukrainian goods and services in foreign markets.
The correspondent draft regulations are to be presented by the Ministry of Economic Development by the end of summer.
