IMF ready to give Ukraine $1.7 bln after July 31 board meeting

A meeting of the Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to consider the allocation of $1.7 billion in the second tranche to Ukraine under the four-year Extended Fund Facility program is slated for July 31, according to Director for the IMF Communications Department Gerry Rice.

"I can tell you that the board meeting is intended to be scheduled for July 31," he said at a briefing in Washington.

He also said that the allocation of the second tranche would be possible right after the board meeting.

According to Rice, the IMF is now analysing how Ukraine has been fulfilling the last preliminary obligation under the program.
