Russian energy giant Gazprom has reduced gas production in the first half of 2015 by 13% year-over-year, Reuters' Russian News Service reported with reference to the results of the Russian Economic Development Ministry's economic monitoring.
"In the first half of 2015, production of natural and associated gas decreased to 311.3 billion cubic meters (bcm), which is 93.4 % against the same period last year, due to a 13.1% decline in Gazprom Group enterprises' production to 209.2 bcm (according to the Russian Energy Ministry), and their share in total production continues to shrink," the report said.
Gas exports to Europe and Turkey fell by 6.2% to 66.8 bcm over the period under review, the agency said.
The Russian Economic Development Ministry forecasts Gazprom’s production is expected to decline to 414 bcm in 2015 from 444 bcm in 2014.
