NBU foreign exchange reserves increase by $112 mln in July

Gold and foreign currency reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) increased by 1%, or $112 million, to $10.4 billion in July, 2015, Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Oleh Churiy said on Wednesday.

"In July, our reserves increased by $112 million, not including the funds of the IMF second tranche that were delivered to the reserves yesterday, on August 4," he said.

According to Churiy, the NBU bought $163 million on the interbank foreign exchange market during this period.

On August 3, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that all funds provided to Ukraine in the framework of the IMF second tranche would be directed to replenish gold and currency reserves of the NBU.

As of today, the IMF second tranche in the amount of $1.7 billion was deposited in the NBU reserves in full.
