“At 12:03 on August 4, Kakhovska-Ostrovska 330 kW transmission line, used to supply power to Crimea, was disabled for repair due to progressive defect of contact connections in current transformer in the cell Ostrovska 330 kW at Kakhovska 330 kW substation,” a statement reads.

"The blackout in Crimea was neither planned, nor conducted," according to the report.

It is noted that during the evening peak hours on August 4, the Crimea’a energy system was consuming 950mW of power, with the max limit of 850 mW. Crimea’s energy system operator ignored the requests of the power system operator SE NPC Ukrenergo regarding the limits observance.

The company stressed that Ukrenergo had not planned, nor would plan grid power outages of the Crimea energy system.
