10 companies interested in purchasing Odesa Port Plant / yuzhny.in.ua
Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said there are ten investors who show their interest in purchasing Odesa Port Plant, which has been set for privatization in 2015, with the initial asking price of $500 million.
"A major international investment bank will be selected to counsel on the privatization of Odesa Port Plant by the end of August, and a road show for investors will begin in September," said Ihor Bilous, head of Ukraine's State Property Fund of Ukraine, during a meeting of the National Council on reforming state-owned enterprises.
Read alsoCargill to invest $130 mln in Yuzhny port's grain terminalAs UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius noted that the privatization of Odesa port plant, one of Ukraine's largest producers of ammonia, carbamide and nitrogen fertilizers, will be part of the reform of the public sector and is designed to establish long-term and stable relations with foreign investors. The minister stressed that the auction would be accompanied by professional advisors, able to conduct pre-sale preparation and provide an objective asset appraisal.
UNIAN memo. Odesa Port-Side Chemical Plant (city of Yuzhny, Odesa region) is Ukraine's second largest ammonia and carbamide producer, and the third largest producer of nitrogen fertilizers. The company also handles chemical products shipped from the CIS countries for further export. The company holds a monopoly position in the national market of specialized services for acceptance, cooling and transshipment of ammonia.
In January-June of this year, Odesa Port Plant received a net profit of UAH 151.953 million, against a net loss of UAH 116.806 million in the same period of last year.
A total of 99.7% stake of the port plant shall be put up for sale, with 5% to be sold in the near future, and the remaining 94.7% - by the end of the year.
