Forex proceeds from Ukrainian agricultural exports in 2015 are expected to total $6 billion, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
"We expect the harvest at last year's level. We expect that during the current year every third dollar that comes to Ukraine will be a dollar from agricultural exports," Yatsenyuk said at a meeting with farm produce traders in Kyiv region on Friday.
"It's the second half of the year, and we've got about $4 billion already," he said.
According to him, the agrarian sector was and remains one of the locomotives of the Ukrainian economy with influence not only on the creation of new jobs, but also on stability on the forex market, as it is farm exports that let Ukraine accumulate its gold and forex reserves.
