Loss of Ukraine's state companies in occupied Crimea over UAH 1 bln

The losses Ukraine has sustained from the seizure of its state-owned enterprises in Russian-occupied Crimea are estimated at over UAH 1 billion, at the very least, according to Ukraine's State Property Fund (SPF).

"Ukraine's losses according to preliminary estimates based on net assets value as of years 2008-2009 are UAH 1 billion. And this is a much underestimated loss," the SPF's press service said quoting SPF Chairman Ihor Bilous.

If Ukraine decides to file loss-compensation suits in international courts, it's the Ukrainian Justice Ministry that will be taking care of such enterprises, he added.

"All information is submitted to the Justice Ministry. It's them who will take care of this. We've got very little information. Our requests are ignored," the SPF head said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko previously said that the Cabinet of Ministers had prepared a package of claims to be lodged with international courts against Russia for the annexation of Crimea. These will be different courts – "starting from maritime arbitration and ending with a court in The Hague."

According to the president, the claims concern a large number of issues, ranging from property protection to certain individuals' personal liability.
