The claim against Kyivenergo was lodged by the deputy prosecutor of Kyiv in the interests of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry and Naftogaz, according to the register of judgments.

The claim says Kyivenergo failed to duly implement a gas contract dated January 12, 2015, as a result of which UAH 3.09 billion in debts to Naftogaz was accumulated.

Kyiv's commercial court is scheduled to hear the case on September 4, 2015.

Kyivenergo generates and supplies heat and electricity to Kyiv-based households. It is part of DTEK.

The company operates two combined heat and power stations – CHPS No.5 (700 MW and 1,874 gigacalories/hour) and CHPS No. 6 (500 MW and 1,740 gigacalories/ hour). Its power grid consists of overhead power lines and underground power cables with a total length of 11,700 km.
