Yatsenyuk: Ukraine not to change offer on Russian debt restructuring

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk urged the Russian government to accept Ukraine-proposed terms of restructuring a $3 billion debt to Russia, as no other – more favorable – conditions will be offered.

"There will be no other conditions. They may as well summon those criminals, whom they have sheltered, and take money from them. Or let them hand over these criminals to us. We will investigate into who and how has siphoned the money,” said Yatsenyuk at a government meeting on Friday, August 28.

Once again, I am urging Russia to accept our offer," said Yatsenyuk

"There will be no better proposal for Russia," the Prime Minister said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian government has reached an agreement with the creditors' committee, which implies a 20% write-off of public debt to be restructured, totaling $19 billion. At the same time Russian lenders were offered the same terms for the restructuring of Russia's $3 billion debt.
