!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In August, 2015, Ukraine increased imports of natural gas by 72%, up to 1.031 bcm, compared with July (0.6 bcm), Ukrtransgaz reported.

According to the company report, Ukraine’s August imports  were exclusively from the territory of Slovakia.

The company also noted that the daily volume of gas imports from Slovakia decreased on September 1 by 35%, down to 23.7 million cubic meters compared with the previous day.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian officials reported on 14.4 bcm of gas already pumped in underground storage facilities, aiming at storing 18-19 bcm before the winter heating season begins in mid-October.

On July 1, Ukraine had suspended gas deliveries from Russia after fruitless talks in Vienna and significantly reduced its purchases from the EU. At this, Ukraine expects to mobilize enough funds from international financial organizations by September to secure necessary reserves in its underground gas storage facilities for the next heating season.
