At its meeting on Wednesday, September 2, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the 2015 financial plan of a national nuclear energy generating company Energoatom envisaging a net profit of UAH 1.2 billion, according to Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn.
"We have approved [the financial plan], they will pay 6 billion to the budget in different taxes, with a net profit of 1.2 billion. After two loss-making years, this year we expect profit," Demchyshyn said.
The minister emphasized that the main task of the government was to make the state-owned company's activity profitable.
UNIAN memo. A state enterprise NNEGC Energoatom is the largest electricity producer in Ukraine with a total production share accounting for 50% of the overall energy production in Ukraine. Energoatom is responsible for safe operations of all nuclear power plants in the country.
