Russian gas transit to EU to drop by 18% in 2015 - Ukrtransgaz / Photo from UNIAN
The transit of Russian gas to the European Union via Ukrainian territory has increased by 48% in August, up to 6.739 billion cubic meters (bcm) compared to a year ago, Ukrainian gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz reported.
Compared to July 2015, the transit of Russian gas decreased by 2.3% in August 2015.
According to Ukrtransgaz, a total of 42.3 bcm of gas has been transported through the Ukrainian gas transport system to the European consumers over eight months of this year, which is 9% less than in the same period of last year.
