Ukroboronprom and Polish company to set up joint venture

State-run Ukroboronprom Concern and Polish Lubawa S.A. have agreed to establish a joint venture, according to the memorandum signed by the parties during the MSPO-2015 International Exhibition, held in the Polish city of Kielce.

"Ukraine has committed itself to entering into collective security structures of NATO. Poland is a worthy partner in the direction of our development. The association of industrial and scientific potential of Ukroboronprom and Lubawa will improve quality of domestic products, as well as strengthen cooperation between the two countries," Ukroboronprom CEO Roman Romanov said.

According to him, this will be the first ever joint cooperation project of Ukraine's state enterprises with a foreign partner. The latest technology and equipment will be installed on domestic production facilities, as well as all the necessary spare parts will be provided.

"Ukrainian investment in this project means new jobs," Romanov added.

Since then we have been able to verify the best products designed for our Ukrainian partner. We have also found the location for a production facility which we plan to launch later this year. Our collaboration goes beyond Ukraine because of our plans to export products to other countries," said Lubawa President of Board Marcin Kubica during the conference.

The day before, the delegation of Ukroboronprom visited all production facilities of Lubawa in Poland, studied its markets and received feedback from current customers of its products.

As UNIAN reported earlier, state-run Ukroboronprom Concern planned to hire a foreign top manager to speed the transfer of the Ukrainian defense industry to NATO standards.
