Poland will provide Ukraine with a loan worth EUR 100 million to finance the export of goods and services from Poland to Ukraine, including the modernization of road near-border infrastructure and the construction of Ukrainian-Polish border crossings, the Monday statement said.

It is noted that this initiative reaffirms Poland's commitments to assist other countries and strengthens its position as a donor state, which will be viewed positively by the OECD countries.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius and World Bank Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Qimiao Fan signed an agreement on allocation of the second loan in the amount of $500 million to Ukraine to accelerate the pace of reforms.

The loan was provided for a period of 16 years, with a seven-year grace period, at a variable interest rate, which now stands at 1.25%.
