Ukraine’s PM accuses Energy Minister of disrupting coal purchases

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk accused the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine of disrupting the implementation of the action plan regarding preparation for the heating season, including the organization of coal supplies to thermal power stations, an UNIAN correspondent reported from the special exercises conducted at Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s operator of the national energy grid.

"We just had a meeting of the Energy Staff. I am forced to state that the Ministry of Energy has breached the execution order on the preparations for the heating season. First of all, it’s about the accumulation of coal," said Yatsenyuk.

He recalled that the government has allocated the necessary funds for the purchase of fuel, but they have not been used as intended.
