Swedish company to build plant for biofuel production in Dnipropetrovsk region

Swedish EcoEnergy company is planning to build an environmentally safe plant for processing waste into biofuel with a capacity of 100 MW, the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration told an UNIAN correspondent.

"We reiterate our full readiness to invest and implement this project," Head of EcoEnergy in Ukraine Valentyn Makogon said during the signing of the memorandum.

According to the report, the memorandum on the construction of the company was signed by Deputy Chairman of the State Administration Volodymyr Prutsakov and Vice-President of EcoEnergy Peter Lindh on September 15.

The new company will eliminate all landfills in Dnipropetrovsk and provide one of the largest residential areas with heat and hot water. Dnipropetrovsk is expected to save 100 million cubic meters of gas annually.

In the near future, a Swedish company with more than 50 years of experience in implementing similar projects will work on a feasibility study of the project.

The Investment Center at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration has already proposed three sites for plant construction. It is planned that the company will be established in the region in three years and will engage about 200 people.
