As noted, Ukraine saw its ranking position deteriorating significantly as compared to the previous year, when 53 Ukrainian enterprises were included in the ranking.

Such a result was primarily due to the weakening of the hryvnia, a reduction in domestic demand, loss of part of the assets by companies and lack of funding, the company said in its statement.

"The geopolitical situation in Ukraine triggered the depreciation of the hryvnia against the euro. Consequently, 84% of the Ukrainian companies in the CE Top 500 ranking reported decreases in their euro-denominated revenues. This is also reflected by a steep (21.2%) fall in the euro-denominated revenues of the Ukrainian companies covered by the survey (compared to an 18.6% increase in the local currency)," Deloitte said.

Inflation has had a negative effect on the domestic market, reducing the purchasing power of the population and demand for some products.

At the same time, such agricultural companies as Bunge and Nibulon have strengthened their competitive position in exports, as well as industrial giants Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, Zaporizhstal and Evraz Sukha Balka saw rise in their profits at year-end.

According to the ranking, the industrial sector is represented by Rinat Akhmetov's Metinvest company that has reported EUR 7.839 billion in revenue for the year. In addition, the company has become the largest in Ukraine in terms of revenue and the only one that has maintained its position atop of the ranking.

Most of the companies in the ranking are engaged in consumer and transport sectors, according to the report.

The number of companies in the ranking that are engaged in the energy sector and industry has dropped from 15 to 9.

The IT, media and telecoms sector is represented by two market players – Kyivstar and MTS. Ukrtelecom company was not included in the ranking.

As noted, total revenue from sales by all the companies included in the CE Top 500 ranking is EUR 682 billion, 1.8% less than last year, in the amount of EUR 712 billion.

In addition, the average minimum revenue shrank by 3.7%, to EUR 459 million.
