Ukrainian budget receives UAH 5.6 bln in war tax over eight months

Ukrainian taxpayers paid UAH 5.6 billion in war tax to the state budget in January-August 2015, up by 15.1% of the targeted value, according to the State Fiscal Service (SFS).

The SFS reports that the amount of tax paid in August totaled UAH 743.6 million, which is 15.8% higher than the targeted value.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a temporary war tax of 1.5% on the wage fund was introduced in August 2014 as an additional source of funding for the Ukrainian army, engaged in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in conflict-torn Donbas.
