G7 countries, ten other European countries, and the Gulf States have agreed to provide the UN humanitarian organizations with $1.8 billion to assist refugees and displaced persons around the world, according to German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Zeit reports.
Germany will allocate $100 million of this amount, according to Steinmeier who spoke at a press conference in New York following the ministerial meeting of the G7 and partners, the report says.
