Ukraine needs $1.3 billion for the purchase of imported natural gas for the 2015-2016 heating season, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at a Сabinet meeting on September 30, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"The total package of financial resources required for the winter season amounts to $1.3 billion, of which $500 million is already in the accounts of Naftogaz Ukrainy; regarding $300 million we look forward to a positive decision by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; while another $500 million should be provided until the end of the year by the World Bank to Naftogaz Ukrainy for the heating season under state guarantees," Yatsenyuk said.
