Ukraine's trade with Russia halves in six months

Ukraine's trade in goods and services with Russia in the first six months of 2015 shrank by 2.2 times year-over-year, to $7.829 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

At the same time, a deficit in foreign trade with Russia in goods and services in the first half of 2015 fell by 33.4% year-over-year, to $725 million, the NBU reported on its website.

Exports of goods and services over the period under review declined by 56.5% over the period under review, to $3.553 billion, while imports halved to $4.277 billion.

The data does not include reports from Russian-occupied Crimea and Sevastopol.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in the first half of 2015 was estimated at $2.89 billion, which was 8.6%, or $227.9 million, up on the same period last year, which was estimated at $2.662 billion.
