Ukraine sees increase in share of overdue debts on loans

The share of overdue debts on loans issued by Ukrainian operating banks grew by 0.7 percentage points in August 2015, to 18.6% as of September 1, 2015, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

The NBU did not report comparison data of such dynamics since the beginning of the year.

The amount of loans extended by operating banks stood at UAH 929.603 billion as of September 1, 2015, the NBU said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the share of overdue debts on loans issued by Ukrainian banks grew by 0.7 percentage points in July 2015, to 19.4% as of August 1, 2015. Since the beginning of the year, it had grown by 5.9 percentage points.

The operating banks, excluding insolvent ones, reported that the share of overdue debts on their loans as of August 1, 2015, was 17.9%, which was 0.6 percentage points up over the month.

In 2014, the share of overdue debts on loans issued by Ukrainian banks rose by 5.8 percentage points, to 13.5%. Over the year, the amount of loans they issued last year increased by 10.43%, or UAH 95 billion, to UAH 1.006 trillion.
