World Bank confirms 1% GDP growth in Ukraine in Q3

World Bank economist in Ukraine Anastasia Golovach confirmed on Monday that Ukraine's GDP in the third quarter of 2015 grew by 1% from the previous quarter with due regard for the seasonal factor, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

"In comparison with the previous quarter and with due regard for the seasonal factor, GDP grew by about 1% in the third quarter, and our data is consistent with the information recently released by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU)," she said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the NBU estimated that real GDP increased by 1% in the third quarter of this year as compared with the previous quarter.

Ukraine's GDP decline in the second quarter of 2015 slowed to 14.6% year-over-year, after a 17.2% drop in the first quarter of 2015.

The Cabinet of Ministers developed three economic development scenarios for 2015 with the GDP decline being between 5.5% and 11.9%.

The International Monetary Fund, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the World Bank forecast that Ukraine will see its GDP decline by 9% in 2015.
