Online property owners register becomes publicly available in Ukraine

Ukraine's State Service on Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre (Derzhgeokadastr) on October 6 made the online register of land and property owners publicly accessible as part of land tenure reform in Ukraine.

Information about land owners will utilize databases of the State Register of Property Rights, so records will also inform about land lease and rent.

Currently, the register covers over 60% of all land plots in Ukraine.

The agency has also launched online services to issue statements with assessment of the value of a land plot. Such documents could be ordered online with hard copies to be issued in any of 660 administrative service centers across Ukraine three days after sending the request.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian government on September 30 approved a resolution on amendments to some legislative acts of the Cabinet of Ministers concerning disclosure of information on the subjects of land property rights, thus ensuring access to the state land cadaster.

Ukrainian Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko in turn announced that all land owners would be notified who requested information about their ownership.

What is more, Derzhgeokadastr plans to launch by the end of 2015 an online portal to render the most popular administrative services as part of decentralization and anti-corruption efforts. By the end of 2016, all the administrative services are expected to be switched to electronic format.
