Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko stated that during the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Lima (Peru), she urged international partners to double their financial support for Ukraine to at least $15 billion.
"Today, seven months after the launch of the IMF's Extended Fund Facility program, we are convinced that we have the reasons and grounds for a considerable increase in this assistance," Jaresko said.
Among the key reasons the minister mentioned the stabilization of the situation in the conflict zone in the country's east, the growing confidence of international partners in the Ukrainian authorities and the progress Ukraine has made in implementing its reform agenda.
